How to buy a font

The fastest way to purchase Petra-D fonts is through the type foundry’s e-shop. Choose the fonts and styles that fit your project, test them using the online tester, then click Buy font and select the number of licenses you need. Please choose the license that applies to your intended use. 

Note that fonts are licensed, not sold. The license is non-transferable and may not be resold or passed on to any third party. For full terms, please refer to the EULA, and read more about Licensing below.

I accept payments via ThePay gate, that allows instant payments, QR code payments, payments by card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You’ll be able to download your fonts right after the payment is confirmed. If you need to pay via bank transfer, just send an inquiry to contact@petra-d.com. Note it may take a few days for the payment to be confirmed before your download becomes available.

Download fonts
After a successful online payment, you’ll be immediately redirected to your Customer account to download fonts. The font files come in a .zip format. If you pay by bank transfer, I’ll email you a download link as soon as the payment is approved.

Note, that due to the nature of digital products, fonts can’t be returned or exchanged after they’ve been downloaded. But if you run into a problem, just send me an email — I’ll do my best to help quickly.

Invoices
Your invoices (in PDF format) are always available in your Customer account for download and printing. (More about Customer account below.)

Customer account

Your Account
When you place your first order, a personal customer account is automatically created for you. From this account, you can access and download your purchased fonts – anytime. You’ll also find your invoices and license details here.

All your orders, their status, and download or print options are available in the My orders section. Your username is your email address. It cannot be changed, as it is linked to your order(s). You can change your password anytime in section Settings.

Forgot your password?
No worries, just go to the login page, enter your email, and click “Forgot your password?”. You’ll receive a direct link to reset it in your inbox.

Forgot or misspelled your email address = username?
If you entered an incorrect email address during checkout and can’t access your account and orders, just send me a message at contact@petra-d.com with the details of your order. I’ll help you recover access and update your account accordingly.

Installing a font

Once you download your font, you’ll need to install it into your system’s Fonts folder or a Font library to embed it into the operating system. This may require up-to-date software, a system restart, or clearing font caches. See the detailed instructions below for step-by-step guidance:

Licensing

When you purchase a font, you're acquiring a license to use it, not ownership of the font itself. At Petra-D Type Foundry you can choose from this type of licenses:

• Desktop License
  For use in printed materials, PDFs, images, branding and more. Fonts are installed on a limited number of computers, and temporary sharing with your printer is allowed for production.
   
• Web License
  For embedding fonts on websites. Licensed per domain and traffic. Self-hosting only — third-party services are not permitted.
   
• App License
  For embedding fonts into mobile or desktop apps. Use must be secure, read-only, and licensed per app.
   
• Canva & Online Platform Use
  Needed if you upload fonts to tools like Canva or Figma. Only for internal use — no public sharing or editable templates. Must be arranged via email, as custom agreements with specific terms. 
   
• Packaging
  Required when fonts are printed exactly as they’re designed on physical packaging (like labels or boxes).
  Must be arranged via email, as custom agreements with specific terms. 
   
• Merchandising
  Needed if fonts are used exactly as they’re designed on products for sale (e.g. T-shirts, mugs, posters, etc.).
  Must be arranged via email, as custom agreements with specific terms. 
• Logo & Trademark 
  If you're using the fonts exactly as they’re designed in a logo or trademarked element, you’ll need this license.
  Must be arranged via email, as custom agreements with specific terms. 
   
• Additional custom Licenses
  E-Book, Streaming, Game, Broadcasting, and Trademark Registration must be arranged via email, as they are custom agreements with specific terms.

License Duration & Upgrade
Licenses are perpetual; there are no time limits on font usage. If you need to upgrade your license, contact me at contact@petra-d.com.

If you notice any technical issue or unexpected behavior in the font or at this website, please don’t hesitate to report a bug! Send me a short description along with a sample or printscreen showing the problem — I’ll be happy to fix it and provide an updated version as soon as possible!

FAQ? Not quite yet

Petra-D is a fresh type foundry — and so far, it hasn’t had enough traffic to warrant a full FAQ. That will come with time…

The support section will grow gradually based on real-world questions, feedback, and experience. If you run into any technical issues during your font purchase or spot something that seems off, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
