Wine labels for Molí dels Capellans
Molí dels Capellans is a small yet remarkable winery nestled in Conca de Barberà, Catalonia, Spain. I had the honor of contributing to the design of new limited-edition labels for their El Trepat, La Coma, and Muntanyes de Prades wines. With only a few hundred bottles produced each year, the aim was to keep the calligraphy minimalist, capturing the essence of Spain's mountain terroir and embracing a relaxed, siesta-inspired vibe.
I hand-lettered numerous analog and digital sketches, crafting final letterforms characterized by rounded shapes, a low x-height, and fluid, freely written strokes. Flat calligraphy markers served as the foundation for the vector lettering, adding a dynamic yet refined touch.
To elevate the bottle design, we incorporated wax seals and printed ties around the neck, adding a sense of tradition and craftsmanship. Additionally, the Molí dels Capellans logotype underwent a subtle facelift, along with a refreshed back label typography. Even the bottle shape itself was refined to harmonize with the overall design.
