The final vector lettering was created based on energetic, quick brush strokes, emphasizing dynamic contrasts in stroke thickness. The use of a dry brush adds a distinctive character and rich texture to the letterforms. The curves were intentionally left unpolished to preserve the raw, edgy atmosphere.

The Museo de Arte in Ponce, Puerto Rico, celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024 with an Annual Gala themed UK 1984—a vibrant homage to the music, design, urban culture, and fashion of the 1980s.
The decade was renowned for its bold typographic experimentation, spearheaded by iconic designers like Neville Brody, Malcolm Garrett, and Peter Saville. For this project, I aimed to capture the essence of England’s 1980s design scene, with a particular focus on Brody’s groundbreaking style.
To bring this vision to life, I explored Brody’s milestone letterings for magazines Arena or The Face and tried to recreate them with a hand written script. With a dry brush, I incorporated familiar 1980s aesthetics—evoking the spirit of MTV, neon vibes, and Interview magazine—while staying true to the British influence.
