Na břehu Rhôny (NBR) Script

Na Břehu Rhôny is a distinctive wine shop and wine bar concept with multiple locations, primarily in Prague. One of its standout features is a self-service wall offering wine in Bag-in-Box (BIB) packaging, allowing customers to sample a variety of wines by the glass.

We created a new visual identity for NBR, starting with a redesigned symbol and lettering logotype, extending through interior and exterior signage, branding elements, and neon designs. This also included developing three custom fonts tailored to the brand's needs: NBR Script for headlines, NBR Numbers for price lists, and NBR Sans (Suitcase Type Foundry) for a wide range of text applications, from large display boards to condensed barcode labels.

NBR Script is a customized version of Americano Script with a slightly heavier weight and extended connection strokes to optimize BIB sign length. It is complemented by NBR Numbers, a custom adaptation of Monolina Brush designed for price tags and BIB figures. The figures have been adjusted to be more upright and narrower while maintaining their original weight, ensuring visual harmony across all branding elements.

  • All Americano (in turquoise) curves were completely redrawn for the lettering wordmark Na Břehu Rhôny (in red). The glyphs are narrower, with a slightly steeper slant and a Medium weight. Connection strokes are longer, and stroke exits are visually rounder. Unique features include redesigned initials N and R, shorter ascenders, and a refined circumflex, all essential for maintaining the correct line height.

    I created several handwritten lettering designs for the Fête Divine wine festival, organized annually by Na Břehu Rhôny in Prague on the banks of the Vltava River. As one of the largest French wine festivals, the event required a unique visual identity. I designed an original handwritten logotype specifically for its promotion, which was prominently featured on all festival wine glasses.
