Jaromír99

I had the unique opportunity to contribute to the Věra Čáslavská comic book, created by Czech author Jan Novák and illustrator Jaromír Švejdík, also known as Jaromír99. This comic, designed for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, reflects the spirit of the Olympics both in its story and color palette.

My goal was to align the lettering style with Jaromír's distinctive vector drawing aesthetic. Stroke thicknesses were meticulously adjusted to fit the comic bubbles and boxes. The resulting custom font, Jaromir99, includes Regular and Bold weights, featuring uppercase-only letters, full Czech and Slovak diacritics, and a set of punctuation glyphs.

Jaromír Švejdík continues to use the Jaromir99 typeface in his projects, showcasing its adaptability to his distinct vector art style and storytelling.
